GMail has at last opened IMAP access...so bye to their shitty webmail, and now I have a real solution for e-mails backups, using imapsync.
After a brief diving in "Perl's hell" (a.k.a. CPAN), compilation of 50 000 dependencies ending with an aborted test, I then installed the missing libraries (mostly SSL) using the FreeBSD ports tree. A few minutes later, all was running...Perl is nice, but CPAN really needs to get improved (or maybe I need to get used to it...maybe).
First import is pretty long, but imapsync will allow me to have a daily backup outside my network, hosted at my beloved friend Google's servers. Along with another daily backup on my PC (in RAID1), I really won't have any excuses to lose my e-mails
